Top Deck/ Bottom Deck - The boards making the top and bottom surfaces of the pallet

Stringer - Also known as runners, are the boards running lengthways through the middle of the pallet.

Notch - Cuts taken out of a stringer so that the pallet can be lifted from all four sides.

Chamfer - Angled cuts made to the Bottom Deck boards that allow forks and hand truck wheels to slide over them without catching.

Wing - Where deck boards extend past the stringers.

Round Corner - The four corners of the pallet are rounded off to prevent catching product or machinery.

Heat Treatment - The heating of pallets to a core temperature of 135 degrees for 30 minutes in order to kill insects for international shipping as required by ISPM 15 regulations.

The top and bottom decks are built the same way so that the pallet can be flipped and still be used. Used to palletize Items such as bags, bales, barrels, boxes, cartons, cases, drums, kegs, sheeting, tubes and wire. Unfortunately hand trucks cannot use this type of pallet.

This pallet has a top deck and bottom deck, which are built to different specifications. This allows for pallets to be cheaper and lighter than Reversible pallets and can be used by forklifts and hand lift trucks since the bottom deck can be chamfered. Used to palletize same items as Reversible Pallet.

A more versatile Non-Reversible Pallet since the Notched Stringers allow the pallet to be lifted from all 4 directions. It requires more milling of the wood, but once again lowers the weight of the pallet.

For use with slings, overhead cranes, fork lifts, hand pallet and straddle trucks. Used for stevedoring, ship loading, and heavy industry. We can also build a single-wing non-reversible.

Skid

This type of pallet does not contain a bottom deck. This greatly decreases the weight of the pallet and allows us to ship many more pallets on a truckload, but sacrifices strength and stability
